Healthy? Cleaning Products

Good morning deerlings!

I hope you’re well and reading something amazing today! Today I have an important topic to share with you.

Cleaning products.

Whether you’re using baking soda and vinegar or Clorox wipes on every surface of your home, we all have them in some capacity. I grew up with Clorox Wipes, Pine Sol, Windex, and Pledge in addition to whatever dish soap we found on sale and my mom said wouldn’t break her out. And not once, not even an inkling in the back of my mind did I ever stop to think about what was possibly in those products and how they could affect my body. Not even once I got to adulthood and was buying my own cleaning products for my dorm room or first big girl apartment. But why would I? These are the products that I grew up with. The products advertised on TV. They can’t hurt me, right?

All cleaning products will have some form of chemical compounds in them. But there are products out there that LIMIT OR REMOVE them entirely. You can also make your own cleaning products like Becky @ CLEAN MAMA but I know most of us don’t have time or don’t want to make time for that. So here are my top five ready to go healthy cleaning products.

DISCLAIMER: While many of these products can be found at Target or Walmart, I get all of my cleaning supplies from Grove Collaborative and if you purchase from them using THIS referral link you’ll get a free 5 piece Mrs. Meyer’s Gift set and I’ll receive a $10 store credit which will be used to try new products in order to review them for my readers.

Top 5 HEALTHY Cleaning Products

  1. Mrs. Meyer’s Room Freshener

I love this product so much that I actually own two and plan on ordering another one eventually. I really love the Lavender scent (featured here) and use it every night in my bedroom. It is a little strong when first spritzed but it keeps my bedroom and linens smelling nice all through the night and helps trigger me into relaxing before bed.  I also have the Geranium scent as well, mainly for our bathroom as a slightly stronger deodorant.

2. Method Squirt + Mop Wood Floor Cleaner

In my apartment, I have Wood floors in my kitchen and linoleum in my bathroom. But I do not have the time nor the energy to have multiple floor cleaners. This product prevents that. It says the scent is almond, but it legit just smells like a freshly opened Dr. Pepper and I freaking love it. It’s formulated for both sealed hardwoods and linoleum and I learned how to hack my Swifter Wetjet and so I just pour this into the container for my Swifter and it lasts forever. I’ve had one bottle since November and I mop my floors at least once a week and I’ve only used half the bottle. It doesn’t streak and doesn’t leave an icky residue like Pinesol.

3. Seventh Generation MultiSurface Wipes

Did you know that Clorox wipes are not technically food safe? Did you know that you’re actually supposed to RINSE anything you wipe down with a Clorox wipe like baby toys for example? Yeah I didn’t either. Meet Seventh Generation. These wipes come in a crisp lemongrass scent and have a ton of product on them so you don’t have to worry about them drying out as fast. I also did not experience any lint from the wipes on certain hard plastics like I did with the Clorox wipes.

4. Mrs. Meyer’s Multi Surface Cleaner

I LOVE the Mrs. Meyer’s line. I know there are some products that are rated higher on the natural cleaning product scale that’s out there somewhere. But I love the fact that these come in seasonal scents and I can get them at my local Target on clearance as well. This works SO well on a number of surfaces and I actually found that this multi-surface spray works better on my faux granite countertops than any other product that I’ve used. I’ve also used this on my bookcases instead of Pledge when dusting and I haven’t had an issue with finding any grimy residue on my books or decor which is an A++ in my book.

5.  Walnut Scrubber Sponges

Okay, these aren’t technically a “Cleaning Product” in the normal sense of the word. But these are freaking AMAZING!! I use these on my counters, on my dishes. They don’t scratch up my glassware or my ceramics, I can throw them in the dishwasher. They hold dish soap or multi surface sprays really well and they last a decent amount of time and don’t fray like many other products. Now that said, if you have a nut allergy, stay away from these because these are made with real crushed walnuts.

And there you have it folks! These are the top 5 items that are in almost every single order I place with Grove Collaborative. I’m not affiliated with them in anyway but like I said in my disclaimer if you do buy via the referral link above I do receive a little kickback which allows me to purchase new products to try and tell you about!

I hope you enjoyed this, let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of these and what you thought!
